Swimmers have recently represented the club at 2 swim finals. On September 12th, 20 swimmers represented the club in the A Final of the Junior Fenland League competing on home territory at the Hive and they did so well finishing 3rd on the night with a total of 104 points against strong opposition from Wisbech and West Norfolk. Our very youngest swimmers Elise Kuru and Charles Clay gaining victory in their heats and gaining valuable points for the team. The hero on the night was Max Freimanus swimming in 6 heats. Our club finished a very creditable 3rd position overall against 12 teams competing in the competition and my thanks go to our Development Coach Zoe Daniells for all the hard work she has put in with our junior swimmers and the team

A week later September 19th we were in competition again at Newmarket in the Senior Fenland League Final where in a closely fought competition we finished second being beaten narrowly by Wisbech in the final event of the night. Congratulations go to all swimmers competing on the night . There were some incredible performances and several very big PB,s achieved by Toby Taylor in 100 freestyle and Charles Green in 100 Breaststroke. Special mention goes to Eryn Pashley competing in 7 events and achieving several very good PB’s too.

Sandwiched in between these 2 finals swimmers have been competing in the first round of our Club Championships where there were some great PB’s achieved in the 1500m freestyle by most of our swimmers. Well done all those swimmers who competed in this challenging distance and my thanks go to all our volunteer technical officials and helpers who made it a great night. Carry on the good work bringing home more PB’s as we go through the various distances over several weeks of our Distance Champs
